Hi Y’all!

We’re slowly getting settled in our new home in the country. This guy is having a hard time adjusting, don’t ya think?

Since the closest grocery store is about 25 minutes away, we’re learning how to plan meals. (And we thought we were pros! HA!) The kitchen is my favorite room in our home and after living in a small apartment with an apartment sized kitchen I wanted to take a minute to share a few of the gadgets we’ve thankfully retrieved from storage and some amenities we’ve welcomed back to everyday life! I also will show you a few NEW things we’ve added to our kitchen that we are in love with!

First, the missed luxuries: (I know, call me spoiled!)

1. My emulsion blender – this one is an oldie but goody! We regularly made our own mayo with this but put that on hold while this little gem was in storage. I use this recipe from….
2. My grandmother’s garlic press – I’m not sure what I was thinking when I packed this away. I tried to buy a replacement a few months into our #ApartmentLife, but nothing compares to this awesome tool. I am so happy to have this back in our kitchen for both nostalgic and practical reasons! Seriously, I don’t think a day has gone by that we haven’t used this.
3. The ceramic teapot – this one is for my daughter! Making one cup at a time is nice, but when you want to brew a little more, this sweetie has you covered. 
4. Our Dishwasher – need I say more???
5. A refrigerator with an automatic ice maker and water and ice dispenser – again, call me spoiled but this one of those things that just makes life easier.
6. Soft close cabinets
7. Two (2) Sinks – drop the mic!
8. A Wine Cooler – because…wine. 🙂
9. A Garbage Disposal
10. Counter Space!

Some new things that we’re in love with:

1. Our gas stove – I’ve always loved cooking on gas, this was another must have and the best thing about our kitchen in the apartment!
2. Our 9 foot island – yep…n.i.n.e. f.e.e.t.
3. Granite countertops – we’re learning that darker granite takes some maintenance, but we love it!
4. My “must have” Farm Sink!
5.  The Corner Carousels – The short girl’s answer to tall cabinets! Well, there you have it! What are your favorite kitchen gadgets and/or amenities? We would love to hear from you!
